Kids Yoga, 8 Week Courses on Mondays

5-8 years

The 5-8 year group will learn to integrate breathing, moving, meditation and relaxation. Based on research in children’s psychology, children need to learn a broad emotional vocabulary to effectively and constructively deal with the things they feel every day.

This course will help to show your child ways of identifying, managing and dealing with strong emotions. Movement is a key element to releasing energy and tension in the body, which is the direct result of the different emotions we feel – frustration, anger, sadness, loneliness, joy, happiness, and so on.

The 9-12 year group (13 year olds’ welcome too) will be exploring asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing) along with meditation and relaxation. It is an excellent preparation for transitioning into full length yoga classes, as well as offering kids a way to gain strength, flexibility and a sense of wellbeing in their lives. Yoga helps with self confidence and finding ease in challenging situations, and it is a fun and light way to teach kids to be disciplined, self aware, kind and open minded. We focus on being community oriented, working together, accepting each other’s differences and being creative.

All Kids Yoga classes are a valuable addition to improving children’s performance in the classroom, the sports field and their interpersonal relationships and will help them to learn ways to connect with themselves and build their self confidence and self esteem.
